Nov 30, 2018

Processing tomato fields, as well as cherry, peach and blueberry orchards, were affected by extensive hailstorms in the Central region near Rancagua San Fernando and the Curico area on Monday 12 November. It is the first time this happens in the last thirty years.

Damages are currently being assessed and we will report when we have more news.

(From Tomato News.)

The Northern Hemisphere suffered big drop of tomato pasts in 2018season, now it is bad news to hear that Chile also suffered bad weather, though we cannot know the exact loss now, we can see the tomato paste quantity will be much lower.
